Is prior experience required?
No experience or flexibility is required for Ballet Workout classes. Just as important, you don’t have to have a perfect body or be limber. We work on your flexibility, coordination musicality and learning to dance in class. Therefore, we have a non-judgmental, complex-free atmosphere in class where we positively work on our bodies and enjoy the feeling of dance and ballet.
Can I choose the day that I attend class?
Yes, you can choose which day you want to come to class and you can start anytime between September and June. Furthermore, our schedule is flexible and you can choose a different day each week. We do advise you to keep a regular and consistent schedule for the best results.
What if I skip class for a week?
It is not a problem, you can pick up the thread as soon as you are able again. Ultimately, it is best if you maintain a regular schedule for your classes, but if you happen to be unable to come for a period of time, you may pick up the thread as soon as you can again. In fact, the most important thing is to get back into your good habits.
Will there be performances?
We host an annual performance that you can participate in as an adult beginning ballet dancer, but it is not mandatory. You may practice the choreography at the end of class and as the year progresses see if you are ready to participate in the performance and set your goals higher accordingly.
Nevertheless, it is an incredible experience and a great opportunity to be on stage and dance beautiful choreography in a real ballet costume. But for now, just come to class and take a first step toward your ballet goals and dreams.
Is ballet for me, even if I am not skinny, fit or very young?
All ages and sizes are welcome. Of course, in our classes you will not be judged by anyone. Everyone practices together and works on themselves in a truly positive and comfortable atmosphere. Only in a positive environment can real progress be made.
Is it really possible to learn the basics of ballet in adulthood?
Yes, this is definitely possible. If you want to dance professionally you should start around age 5. But if you want to dance for your health and pleasure it is absolutely possible to learn ballet correctly and safely in a short time. In our adult ballet studio you will always be guided by professional ballerinas who will make sure that you learn everything correctly without forcing your body.
Is ballet unhealthy for your body as an adult?
As in elite sports, professional ballet where you dance up to 10 hours a day can lead to injury. If you take up to 1 or 2 hours a day of classes aimed at beginners, the program is modified and the classes are taught under professional guidance. Furthermore, ballet is very good for your posture, flexibility and strength.
We pay much attention to the correct form of each exercise, which also makes you more aware of your body and thus less likely to get injured. The exercises in our classes are adapted to a beginner’s level.
Finally, when can I start?
